Charles Kaisin

Charles came to eat at my place yesterday and I was surprised I didn't wrote about him yet.
I guess you already know him with his K-Bench, his Pixel or his Marcolini's eggs.
When I was studying architecture at Saint Luc in Brussels, we had to create a space to expose some of Charles Kaisin's work. I already loved what he was doing but I didn't know him personally yet and I wasn't not that good informed about his work.
But I totally fell in love with his Pixel and his trees on the Place Poelaert (unfortunately someone burned them. People are crazy).

He has worked with Delvaux, Grand Hornu, Marcolini, Royal Boch, Val Saint-Lambert,... He is also artistic director for fashion shows. He works a bit in everything, that's what makes him so incredible.

He is well known for his work on recycling. He transforms an empty bottle, a porthole of a washing machine, uses newspaper, plastic shopping bags, ... so many topics to bring a different perspective on life and death of objects.

Cendrillon

Il reste peu de places et il paraît que c'est magnifique. Le décor, les costumes,... A VOIR !

Simple Diary

I went to the Taschen library to buy some gifts and I found this amazing Keel's "Simple Diary". It is a funny diary where you have to answer questions, multiple choices, ... but in a really unusual way. Love it ! There is a page for every day and on every page you have a quote. It inspired me a bit... I love quotes !

MYchapel

Everybody knows the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel (it is the place where the musicians of the famous Queen Elisabeth Competition have to stay 1 week before the big final). The Chapel is a place where young artists can follow courses with the masters in residence; José van Dam, Abdel Rahman El Bacha, Augustin Dumay,... They have more or less 40 young artists coming from all over the world. The Chapel currently bases its curriculum on 5 disciplines : piano, violin, cello, voice and chamber music.

For more than 60 years the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel has been supporting the development of some of the finest young musicians.
This is why the MYchapel project wants to connect this generation of talents with young lovers of classical music under 35. Make new friends, meet musicians, get to know more about classical music with them : those are the objectives of MYchapel.
For only 50€/year, become a member and take advantage of many events organised by the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel during the year.
For more info surf on the MYchapel's website.

Adam Fuss

Adam Fuss is a British photographer, one of the most talented and innovating artist (even if he often uses the same ancestral technique). Since he was a child, he was always into the fashion world. He began his career at the Ogilvy & Mather Agency. Then he took a series of odd jobs in NYC and it was is that city that he exhibited his first works, at Massimo Audiello's galery. Since then, Fuss's works have been exhibited in major museums and galleries around the world.
Adam became a distinguished artist by using a range of historical and contemporary photographic techniques. Art critics describe the artist's work as the ephemerality of a moment in time and life itself.
I've seen him in Madrid at the Fundacion MAPFRE and Xavier Hufkens's Galery.
